I wasn't so much drawn to becoming a
photojournalist as I was born to be one.  To me,
there has always been  interest in the every-day,
beauty in the inperfection, and a story around
each corner.  My hope is that through my work,
one is able to see  sincerety and compassion.

I earned a B.A. in news editorial journalism from
Oklahoma State University in 1996.  From there
I went on to complete an editorial internship in
Dumas, Texas.  I later moved to New Mexico
where I pursued other careers and finally
embraced freelance photography as my
profession.

My friends would say I am  an unassuming
professional.  I like to approach my work and
my subjects without pretension, carrying a
minimal amount of equipment and keeping a low
profile.  I use natural light whenever possible,
and avoid posing my subjects.  This allows me to
document a scene without becoming one.

In addition to being a photojournalist, I am also a
mother, sister, daughter - and a friend to all who
know me.

Thanks for taking the time to read about me.  I
look forward to telling your story.
